Appears well made. Far too expensive at £9.
At first sight this seems like a well made adapter with a decent quality feel to it and has child safety shutters. Would look better if 'MyTravelPal' were not emblazoned across the front, but a very minor point. The grip to remove it pulls on the main part, not the cover, so unlikely to come apart. It is sealed without any screws to easily look inside but by opening the shutters and carefully looking, I note that the brass parts inside are for multiple plug types. It looks like the prongs of UK plugs connect on their lower and probably also upper surfaces, which is not always the case in such adapters where the connection is sometimes just on one surface. Multi-format adapters are more prone to failure after a while due to trying to be 'Jacks of all trades'. On testing, all connections are sound. The accompanying leaflet is for a multi-format outlet adapter and describes how if your plug has no grounding pin, like some US plugs, then not to worry if you have to push hard to get the shutters to open. Obviously US plugs cannot fit at all. Thin-pronged europlugs (not the thicker Schuko types) can fit and connect if the shutters are opened via the earth hole, but not by pushing hard. This adapter is ok but at £9 is dreadfully overpriced. If £5 or less, it would definitely be worth 4 stars, but at the current price it's just 'ok' so 3 stars.
