Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus

No spoiler review, It's very good
This is a very well written book and I enjoyed it. It made me feel a wide range of emotions which is the point art to me. There is a lot of pain but there is a lot of hope and some good humor. There are some lines that really hit hard.At the beginning of the book we get Eddie, but he's not yet the Eddie that we know from the show; this is the story of him becoming that Eddie.I loved the nuanced way the author handled Eddie's complicated relationships with his family and friends. The relationship with his father is so well done and Uncle Wayne got me in the heart at one point. There is a cameo at the end in the record shop I loved. The 1st person POV was the perfect choice for this story and very well done. It gives a faster pace and lets us into Eddie's head to go between emotions, memories and present more smoothly than other POVs. That last part, being in Eddie's head is what made the book so good because the author pulls it off well. I like that by the end we see how Eddie has been a bit of an unreliable narrator to us and to himself about some things.Eddie's end in the show hurts more and makes even more sense because that's just Eddie- good to the end. The thing is, this book makes be want Eddie to come back. I'm usually someone who doesn't like that in stories, but I can see it working very well even more now.

If you love Eddie Munson, you'll love this book!
I confess that I'm still as obssessed with Eddie Munson as I was two years ago when he made his debut on ST4. And since I can't get enough, reading this helped sate me for a while. Enjoyable, creative, exciting, and well-written, I was very happy with Flight of Icarus and, if you love Eddie Munson as much as I do, you will be too! A must read for all Stranger Things fans!

Overall pretty good!
This review isn’t spoiler free!!This book was a whirlwind for me—I don’t tend to read stories from first person perspectives, but I adapted nonetheless. There were a few inconsistencies I picked up on (Tommy H’s last name being Haynes instead of Hagan), but otherwise it was good! And the storyline with how much Eddie loved his mother broke me in half. But it was good!

Walk Around Hawkins in Scuffed Reeboks
I was nervous, to be honest, because my heart done got busted in two during Season 4 BUT Schneiderhan gave me what I wanted - More Eddie- fleshed out and gloriously real. If you are diehard #steddie or #hellcheer, this might not slake your thirst for the Metelhead DM that left so many of us reeling — biting our cuticles and rolling back our shoulders and tap tap tapping our rings and hoping to Gawd he is just metaphorically trapped in Carbonite or Surprise! Vampire or something. But this novel brought me only joy that is slightly flavored bittersweet. Felt like I’d been gifted the biggest Sunday from Scoops Ahoy to share with Eddie with one spoon. I’m glad Schneiderhan is in the writers room for season 5. I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.

It’s ok but not great
This is the story of Eddie Munson that’s not seen in the show. The author could have condensed 5 chapters in the middle of the book to one. Overall, it’s a decent read but moves very slowly.

Good read
I'm a total eddie munson fan and naturally needed to read ( or hear) this book. Overall a decent read. Honestly, I wasn't into the whole Rockstar storyline but that's just me. Some parts definitely seemed like they were for the eddie stans out there and I personally thought we're kind of cringe. But like I said overall it was good.
