Belle Weather Paperback – September 1, 2009

USA Today wrote of Celia Rivenbark "Think Dave Barry from a female perspective!" I say "Think Kathy Griffin or Roseanne Barr....with a sense of humor and some class!" She definitely has more of an edge than Dave Barry, which I like to begin with. But best of all, her irreverence and pure enjoyment of her own writing comes through very clearly in her voice as she reads her own words. She is obviously more relaxed reading her second audiobook, and you can hear her smiling with every fast-paced jab. It just a joy to hear her. Dave Barry, on the other hand, always sounded uncomfortable reading his own material.I would normally be offended buy a writer who manages to get in so many digs at everything I stand for (lazy husband and fatherhood, knee-jerk conservatism, man-toy consumerism) but she's just so damned funny I can't get mad at her!I'll be anxiously awaiting her next audiobook!

This is a great book by a great author. Would definitely recommend.

The perfect book if you want to relax, laugh, get southern, and not think. It is not one of those War and Peace books that forces you to make notes on characters. Just a fun, easy read. You know you're going to smile each time you pick it up. Let's just say I ordered everything Rivenbark had on Amazon after I finished this one. Enjoy.

Love this girl just all to pieces. She made me laugh out loud, and she made me homesick, (Carolina girl here). Most of her observations ring pretty true, for me anyway. Seriously, have you looked around you lately? Oh, by the way -- if you were looking for Dorothy Parker and some heart-felt feel good about the Bush years, it's no wonder you were pissed off when you read this...bless your heart.

Rivenbark -in one word- is always fun.

Yet another great book by Celia Rivenbark. She has it down! I never thought I could laugh so hard about things that make you so mad and so stressed. I think from now on when I'm ready to "just lose it" over something; I'll just grab one of her books to read over again and come back down to earth. Life can be hilarious. Just read Celia's books.

Enjoyed this book but you really have to be a southerner to truly 'get it'. It's very funny with stories that most can relate too and presented in a nice way.

Celia Rivenbarks latest book is wonderful; I lost count of the number of times I burst out laughing in public. The stories are hysterical and her style of writing makes you want to keep reading and reading. Great.
