This is a cool watch. I have an Omega Sea Master and a Fortis Official Cosmonauts and they are extremely jealous of my new Swatch Sistem51. The only complaint I have is the date is tiny its unreadable for my middle aged eyes.If you like automatic watches this unique time piece is a must have. Keeps great time, it's so light you don't notice it so it's no problem to wear it while golfing, playing tennis or any other sport. For the money, it's like a sore dick......you can't beat it.

Great watch
I wish the date was bigger or magnified, but otherwise, I love this watch.

Just remember... it’s a disposable watch.
I bought my Sistem 51 Red when it came out in 2014. I have worn it only occasionally and it’s always been a great watch... until recently. Unfortunately, it is beginning to fail. The watch will stop while being worn, which is something that should not happen with an autowinder. Anyways, I’m really thinking of purchasing one of the 41mm Quartz Swatches instead. The quartz Swatch watches have served me well since the 1980’s and I went out on a limb for this Sistem 51 Swatch because I dig mechanical watches. But not if they don’t work.

Buyer Beware
The watch was pre-owned and somewhat banged up. Doesn’t keep time because it doesn’t self wind unless I literally shake the watch continuously. Does not maintain running even when kept on a watch winder.

My Daily Watch
There is so much to talk about with the Sistem51, I've started using it as a daily watch!I've gotten a lot of compliments, only thing I am annoyed about is people keep asking me what does the constellations mean. I've also received interest from Swatch Fans as this is made with 51 parts, and only one screw! Moreover, this is the very first watch to be made with an assembly line of robots!Very happy with what I've received. Light, and slightly durable (body is plastic so it scratches easy, but the glass can take a beating)Few not so good comments, I've started feeling and hearing it wind as I walk or shake my hands. I think its because of the light weight design. Most people will probably not notice this.

Groundbreaking Technological Innovation in a Gorgeous Design
This new "Sistem51" Swatch has two unique claims to fame that make it quite unique amongst the watch world, even within the huge ecosystem of watches that Swatch has made over the years. Both of these have to do with the construction of the watch itself, and neither are to be easily overlooked. The first is that this is the first mechanical watch in history made by any manufacturer at any price that has been constructed with only 51 parts (hence the name, "Sistem51"), and perhaps equally surprising, held together with a single screw. The second is that the watch has been manufactured completed and exclusively by automated construction (meaning no human assembly of any part of the watch). In our age of fully digital watches that have essentially no moving parts, it is interesting that mechanical watches have only grown in interest. Perhaps this is because there is an appreciation for the intricacy and difficulty of creating such small and precise devices, or perhaps there is a "legacy" of watchmaking that instills continuing demand for these devices. Regardless, mechanical watches remain constructed with a myriad of moving parts, and even in today's age of extreme manufacturing sophistication, human intervention has nearly always been necessary to complete the construction of mechanical watches. And this is what Swatch sought to overcome with this new project, to reduce the moving parts down to only 51, and to have assembly made in fully automated function. Fascinatingly, Swatch did it within a two-year timeframe, and the result is the first round of "Sistem51" watches, available in four colors (red, blue, black, and white). The watch itself is quite gorgeous in its design, with this red model presenting a "constellation" of 19 stars on its face (to represent the 19 jewels used in the watch assembly at the points of movement), a semi-transparent red plastic case, and a fully transparent back panel that allows one to view the internal components in motion (and that have also been beautifully designed to provide a very artistic effect). Surprisingly, the watch, while not small, is quite light. I was surprised when I first picked it up, because I expected it to be as heavy as my other Swatches in this size class. The band for the red watch is a black silicone with red stitching, but it is a silicone that almost feels leather-like when you touch it. This makes the watch more comfortable to wear. A semi-transparent red clasp finishes off the band. Many Swatches become collectors items due to the unique nature of so many of the models the company has made over the years (many people are not aware that Swatch is, by far, the largest watch company in the world, and they also own a number of luxury watch brands, plus a whole electronics division that supplies parts for computers, cell phones, routers, and on and on; it's a company that nearly everyone owns something made from, yet are often not aware of it!), and there would seem to be little doubt that this first release of the Sistem51 line will become collectors items, as well. But Swatches are also made to be worn. They are fun. They are highly accurate. They are dependable. And they almost always solicit remarks and attention. This new Swatch is one of the most unique and technologically innovative watches made by anyone in years, with write-ups in major magazines, including The Economist. And with all that, it is reasonably priced. It's not cheap, by any means, but considering its pedigree, it could have been priced three times higher, and it would still sell. I have purchased many, many Swatches over the years, and I can unhesitatingly say that this is one of the most unique. Five stars, but probably should be six or seven stars, when all factors are considered.

No funciona
