Hopkins 41155 Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Kit, Black

I bought this because the vehicle specific fitment guide says it fits---they don't tell you that it only fits if you have factory tow pkg.---what a huge waste of my time!!

Great product, however I did find that the vehicle would have needed to be programmed at the dealership. The fault is not with this product. It's a good product.I ended up buying a separate module to plug into the lights, however I used this plugs power cable to prevent from having to run a dedicated power line to the battery. This allowed me to use the OEM connection that was there without having to do all that crap. Work flawlessly.

Nice "plug and play" kit, but be forewarned. Some vehicles still may take a few hours to install correctly due to the way these kits are made and where these plug into in your vehicle. It took me about 6+ hours to install in a 2016 Ford Transit 150XLT. I had to take off every panel from the floor to the ceiling along the drivers side and passenger side up to the side door. Once all this was removed (in a couple of hours), it only took about 45 minutes to run the wires and install. Then I had to reinstall all the panels. I'm confident the product is installed correctly and the peace of mind that brings in priceless. And I have the satisfaction of a job well done...and I gained a new perspective on the way my van was put together too. It wasn't a hard install. Just a little nerve-wracking removing the panels without busting the plastic clips. I bought a set of panel removing tools at Harbor Freight in preparation for this job. They working perfectly and I have them in case I need to remove these panels (or any others) a second time.

First: The triangle key inside was blocking the connector from going all the way down and locking so I cut it out and all the pins connect and connector lock engages. Must have been a tolerance issue or lack of quality.Second: this does not work (electrically) with a 2009 Audi Q7 TDI S-Line Prestige factory installed tow package and a uhaul utility trailer. The whole reason I bought it. The manufacture website says it would fit my car, but no matter how much I twisted and pushed it would not engage until I cut the triangle key out from inside the connector. At uhaul they pointed out that with my headlights on the brake lights were lit on the trailer, but when I put the brakes on the trailer lights would go dim like parking lights. Same thing with my turn signals, in fact my car puked errror codes for trailer brake lights and turn signals not working. Uhaul installer had a check box and their trailer was wired correctly and fully functional so I don't know what's wrong other then this harness is not compatible with my configuration. Super disappointed and if I didn't need it the next day to tow I would have sent it back. Now I have a modified connector and 4pin that I will need to re-wire to get it to work correctly.

Works great on my church's Chevy Express Van. Deducted one star because the pigtail is not long enough to fit the vehicle side back into the frame hole that the vehicle connector was housed in. Had to zip-tie the vehicle side connector to the top of the hitch frame so that the trailer side would reach far enough.

This product arrived early, and was very easy to install. The instructions were concise and clear and everything was included to make the job easy no tools required. This is necessary to connect the trailer to your Chevy or GM truck.
